Web Confession Wednesday

I was going to do another Wordless Wednesday and post pictures of our Thanksgiving dinner. But, I've found myself, instead of a lack of words, with more words and thoughts then I know how to deal with.

So I have a secret.. one that not many people know. So if we can keep it between us, then I could really use an unloading session ;)

Shel and I are having a baby. (Shel... start breathing again...) Hang on to your cigars and balloons for now. There's no bun in the oven YET. But... we're going to have one. The planning is in motion. Actually we're going to have 2!!
Shel and I lived separate lives for a very long time, and through those separate lives came 3 amazing, wonderful,, hansom, incredible, CHALLENGING boys. We don't use the word "Step" when we talk about the boys, or even about each other. No one here is a STEP parent, and no one here has STEP brothers. We are a family just like any other, and our parenting skills/decisions are not altered because of our chromosomes, linked or unlinked.

When Shel and I finally decided that we were going to spend the rest of our lives together, babies weren't first on the list of conversation starters. With a 16 year old, an almost 11 year old, and a 7 year old, dreams of travelling the world, quiet "sick" days at home together, these were things we talked about. Not sleepless nights, teething, diapers. They're not so concussive to romantic chats in front of the fire.

I don't remember which of us mentioned it first. But every now and then "chunky pumpkin" was popping up into our conversations. More and more frequently, we found ourselves falling to pieces over diaper commercials and baby sleepers at the mall.

Finally we got down to business... I think it went something like this...
"Seriously... what d you think"
"I don't know. What do you think?"
And from there, the idea of little baby Feener(s) was born. I think we had both already made up our minds, and were just waiting for the other to confirm what we already knew... that there needed to be another few voices added to our already chaotic Saturday mornings.

Since then, I have 100% full on Baby brain. Late night "Baby Story" watching, searching ebay for baby deals, fetal heart monitors, and the perfect bumbo chair. Not one day has gone by in the last year without us mentioning them by name (yep.. we have our names.. but I'm not telling!!) I know that its just hormones I know that my body has already adjusted to the thought of babies, but it seems like EVERY one of my friends/relatives either HAD a baby, is EXPECTING a baby, or has ADOPTED a baby. Babies are everywhere I look! I can't stop thinking about them.

So in the stillness of a Wordless Wednesday, when I quietly look over my pictures to find one's that I want to post... I can't quiet the voice in the back of my head, baby toys, baby cribs, baby pictures, baby bellies, babies babies babies!
So now you know my secret :P Shhhhhh! Don't tell!
